My first beavertail / La mia prima “coda di castoro”

YUMMY!!! I tried the Beavertail for the very first time a few weeks ago in Ottawa. I didn’t even know that it existed since 1978! They are made fresh and right in front of you! A great and delicious Canadian born treat. It’s a hot pastry made of wholewheat dough stretched into the shape of a beaver’s tail, and then float-cooked in canola oil. They are served hot with a variety of delicious toppings (sugar, lemon, apples, nutella, ice cream…). I got a plain with cinnamon and lemon. I took these pics in Ottawa a few weeks ago except for the last two ;)

BUONAAAA!

This is their website.

This is when Obama tried the Beavertail on George Street in Ottawa’s ByWard Market in February 2009. Hope he liked as I did!!!!
